The Nile River flows through northern Egypt. Because it is close to the Mediterranean Sea, the weather there is warm all year. For example, the city of Cairo has a subtropical climate, which means that the winters are mild and the summers are hot. Also, the city is in the middle of a desert, so the weather is hot all year. Even though the whole coast, including Alexandria, has wet and rainy winters, the weather in Alexandria is always mild and pleasant.

Most of the people live in the northern and eastern parts of the country in Luxor and Aswan, so the Sahara has room to grow in the southern and central regions. The weather here is always sunny and hot, and there is only a tiny chance of rain. In the winter, the average temperature during the day is around 22 degrees Celsius, while the average temperature at night is 0 degrees Celsius, which is much more relaxed. In the summer, high temperatures often reach or even go above 50 degrees Celsius.

Egypt’s most eastern point is on the east side of the Red Sea. Even though the desert there is often dry and dusty, it looks more like a typical desert because the sea brings in water. It might only rain twice this winter in all of Egypt, but it won’t rain here.

Coptic Even though most of Egypt’s official holidays and celebrations are based on the Islamic calendar, Christian holidays are essential and are often celebrated.

Coptic Christians have a holiday called Sham El-Nessim, which is like Easter. But it’s possible that the first time this happened was in ancient Egypt, where it was seen as a sign that spring was coming. If this were true, the Egyptians would have been the first people to notice it.

Since the Islamic calendar is based on the moon and not the sun, many Islamic holidays happen on the 10th or 11th day of the Western calendar. This shows that Islamic celebrations last thirty years, the same as one year on the Western calendar. Because a day on the Islamic calendar also starts at sunset, festivities often begin the night before the day they are celebrating.

During Ramadan in Egypt:

Ramadan in Egypt

During Ramadan, it is customary for Egyptians not to eat or drink anything. On this day, the first hard copy of the Quran was given to Muhammad. During Ramadan, most Muslims follow the practice of fasting, which means they don’t eat, drink, have sexual activity, or smoke. You could say that the month of Ramadan is all about feeling sad. Muslims fast often, and traditions are significant to them. During the fasting time, stores and other places of business have to close at dawn and can’t open again until after sunset. When there are a lot of tourists in an area, business hours may change to fit with how people there fast. What’s good about going on a trip during Ramadan? Research has shown that there are several health benefits to fasting. During the celebrations, people will eat and drink in the evenings. If you invite strangers for a walk in the evening, they may ask you for dinner. During the month of Ramadan, most Muslims fast. This is important to know, even if you don’t follow Islam. When someone is fasting, it is considered very rude to eat in front of them or smoke around them.

Fasting during Ramadan doesn’t change the level of service that Egypt Tour Packages gives. Most trips and expeditions have a steady, measurable pace that can be altered to fit the needs of each person.

Celebrated in Egypt during Christmas and Easter:

Christmas is on January 7 for Christians who follow the Coptic calendar. Westerners didn’t start bringing Christmas decorations to Egypt until just a few years ago, and Christmas decorations like lights and Santa hats have become much more common in public places in the past few years. It’s also important to remember that Egypt doesn’t have a lot of Christmas trees in December.

Because of the Coptic church, Easter, which is a Christian holiday, and Sham al-Nessim, an old Egyptian holiday, both happen on the same day. Many different things are done to mark Sham al-Nessim. Some of these ways of getting together may seem as natural to you as breathing, but because April is traditionally the first month of spring, it has been given the name “smell the wind,” which means “smell the breeze.” People often celebrated the Sham al-Nessim holiday by having picnics in the park with traditional foods like pickled fish (renga) and lamb (feseekh). As part of traditional Easter celebrations, people often dye eggs in all the colors of the rainbow.
